Deanm1987
Hi I'm new to the freelander scene. Bought a 2004 1.8 k series for the Mrs cheap knowing it needed a head gasket. I've done the gasket and in the process of re fitting the cams. I put the cams back in in what I thought was the right order however then turning the cams to the correct timing position I was unable to move the exhaust cam at all! Now I'm wondering if I've mixed the cams up at some point. So my question is, is there a way to identify which cam is which? I've noticed one has lyd 48 (or 4B) and the other lyd 58 ( or 5B) stamped on them. Any help would be much appreciated thanks.
FridgeFreezer
Have you got the factory RAVE manuals?

FridgeFreezer
The RAVE manuals are online for free, I think there should be links in the technical archive section.
