Gluv
Hi all Im thinking of fitting a dual Smiths gauge to the motor . The oil pressure looks pretty easy to install but the water can not be fitted in the normal sensor position due to the size of the capillary tube bulb. Can I fit it in the thermostat housing plug hole instead ? Does anybody foresee any problems with this ? cheers Gluv
Retroanaconda
What engine do you have? If you mean the blanked off holes in the top of the thermostat outlet housing, then yes. Though the temperature will only read properly once the thermostat is open, so it won’t be a true reflection of engine temperature.

It's 24 volt so changing gauges is not as straight forward as 12 v obviously. I would like to use Smiths gauges if I can . I'm waiting to hear off them as to whether they do a 24 v electric option Gluv
