Nij48
Hi all. I have a 2003 Freelander 1 td4. I went to get a key cut earlier (the cutting is fine, the key works for the doors/fuel cap/ignition), however the company I used was unable to programme the chip for the immobiliser, his ‘software’ managed to find the chip however wouldn’t ‘copy it’ and his big computer which he plugged into the OBD port worked out it was a Land Rover but his equipment wouldn’t register that it was a Freelander 1 and would only understand FL2 (2006+), Disco 3/4, RR etc... Has anyone else had this problem or know how to find someone who will be able to sort it? - I do have the blank/unprogrammed key.
FridgeFreezer
I think you can program a new key yourself as long as you've got at least one working old key but not 100% sure, it's either in the owner's manual or the RAVE workshop manuals. Failing that a dealer can do it for a fee, or there's people all over eBay who offer it for cheap.
