Pino54
Hi, I need some advice, I'm mounting the whole odometer of the td5 on my defender 200td, now I wanted to know in the image the wire of the nr. 12 (wc), should it be connected directly to the plug ypc10175 20 nr.3 (wo)? thank you gauges_diagram.pdf
western
On Td5white/orange wire is low fuel warning on a 200Tdi low fuel warning light wire is White/grey OnTd5 the speedo internal circuits controls the fuel gauge & low fuel light, you can just connect the 200tdi white/grey direct to the dash low fuel warning light, no need to go through the speedo plug/circuit. Pino54
Quindi non c'è bisogno di collegare il filo del contachilometri che esce dal nr. 12 giusto? So there is no need to connect the odometer wire coming out of nr. 12 right?
western
Pretty sure I did not connect it, have a look & read through the Wibbly Wobbly speedo thread on here, lots of info in there
Pino54
55 minuti fa, Western ha detto: Abbastanza sicuro di non quello collegato, dai un'occhiata e leggi il thread del tachimetro Wibbly Wobbly qui, molte informazioni lì Ok, I'm waiting for the transducer and I'll let you know, another question if you don't mind, the arrows of the 200 have only one wire or 2 wires, since they only go to one illuminator? On the green indicator arrows 1 wire is for the left ind 1 for the right ind, just connect these to the td5 warning panel plug the wire colour code is the same, thats all I did, the warning light panel had its own earth/ground wires. Some 300tdi vehicles didn't have the low fuel level light connected or fitted at the tank sender unit, If your sender only has 2 wires, the low fuel light is inoperative. Pino54
Sorry, the reserve light stays on if I put it in mass, is there a wiring diagram to see how to connect it?
western
If the tank sender only has a ground on plain black wire & a signal wire for the gauge, you can leave the low fuel light disconnected, it is NOT a fuel reserve light. 200tdi wiring diagram in https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://forums.lr4x4.com/topic/75135-200tdi-wiring-diagram/&ved=2ahUKEwj186jh96z2AhXNTsAKHWOhB2kQFnoECEAQAQ&usg=AOvVaw1uPM8gSXvI2kRggemxI-rN
Pino54
So in a nutshell I can't take advantage of the td5 fuel warning light on my 300 tdi right?
western
Only if you use a tank sender unit that has 3 connections like the earlier 200tdi vehicles, but if your vehicle does not have the low fuel wire at the sender connection then no you will not be able to use it. western
You need a 200tdi tank sender with 3 connections Land Rover old part number PRC8463 https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-PRC8463 A quick Google search gives these results https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Alr4x4.com+200tdi+fuel+sender+unit&oq=site%3Alr4x4.com+200tdi+fuel+sender+unit+&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i58.16442j0j7&client=ms-android-vf-gb-revc&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-

western
If you want the low fuel warning light to work use the 3 connection early sender & add a 3rd wire from sender to dash. But if you only have 2 wires at the sender connection you will need the later sender, the vehicle is not wired for the low fuel warning light.
