I have the same on my standard Def heater - I have to turn it down after a few minutes, even in -10deg conditions in a full hardtop 109.  Their biggest problem, when well maintained, is the fact that they cool an idling Tdi so after a short while parked, the air becomes tepid.  That is why I’d like an auxiliary heater like you.

Small updates:

Heater fan packed up - planned to get her changed, turned into a bigger job, strange things happened and spiralled ended up getting a MinistryofDefender Dash and air con unit fitted despite having OEM aircon, hopefully my misting woes will end now.

Alucab roofbox not quite working for me due to my garage and a few bits nI need to sell as a result of the impulse new dash, heater mount, vent seals, mud double din, exmoor evander wheel....

Exmoor rear seats arrived to be fitted to convert to 2 rear seats so more parts to sell/donate (4 rear side facing seats, parts and the 60/40 rear seat in xs part leather all good, I'll get them in the for sale section along with my boost wheels and tyres.

I got a stage 1 from Alive, brilliant upgrade, transformed the drive and have cruise to fit from Empire.

Also the leaks! So new door seals and hinge seals to solve that. The vents got solved with the dash.

Its turned into a workhorse daily which was never the plan or what I imagined but its been great but what I thought I needed and purchased has turned out not to be the case given how I use it, however the roof is brilliant. Lessons learned,
