POSBORNE
I have a 1991, Discovery 200Tdi, Standard. I`ve fitted 235/70/R16 Colway Mud terrains on standard L/R Steel rims to the vehicle & on test driving it, find that the Front Tyres rub the front radius arms on tight lock, to do i need to fit spacers or just live with it? Previously i had L/R Alloys that came with the vehicle with 205/85/R16 on. Thanks
Mark
The easieist thing to do is to adjust the steering stops. There are two bolts on the body of the swivel housing that stop the wheel moving far enough to hit the radius arms. Admittedly you will lose a bit of turning circle... you will need 2 17mm spanners... Alternately, you could fit spacers or fit rims with a different offset.. both of which involve spending some money. Hope that helps. BogMonster
You can just live with it, as long as you don't regularly hold the thing on full lock as it will wear out the tyre treads! Not sure about MOT though, it may be a fail?
Mark
Yep, it's an Mot fail if any part of the when interferes with another part of the suspension... just wind the lock stops out a bit..
