hi,

i have just put in a newly restored 2.5 na diesel. it runs great, have a lot of power, is verry quiet and dont smoke. but, it does not run well under 1100rpm, it misfires and the rpm goes somewhat up and down. it does not always reduses the rpm when i let the trottle up (not the cables, the little rod on the pump is where it should be), i have to put it in gear with handbreak on and slowly lift up the clutch to lower the rpm. it does run on 600rpm when warm, but just barely. it stood for 1-2 years before put in car. the engine has run about 150 miles.

where shall i start to look?????

regards

I am also very interested in this fault because I have similar symptoms on my 2.5 na diesel.

Morten,

I've already told you all I know. ;):)

Niklas,

Check that the idle speed is adjusted on the little lever with adjusting screw at the front end on the pump. Adjusting on the throttle wire makes it idle like an old Scania Regent.
