jeremy
Ok so my 90 200Tdi is having some fueling problems which I slowly seem to be resolving. Now our trusty Freelander TD4 Auto has decided to do some attention seeking too! The fuel pump in the engine bay which is usually silent is making a lot of gurgling noises, as if air is passing through it, which suggest to me that perhaps the pump in the tank has failed? I've tried booking into the local specialist (not main dealer) who serviced the vehicle just a couple of weeks ago but they are too busy to help (until the end of May) is it worth removing the tank pump to see if its knackered? Or is it likely to be something else? The engine malfunction light is on - will this go out if the problem is resolved or would that need to be reset? Any advice welcome - to have one land rover playing up is frustrating to have one broken down and one thinking about it is bloody annoying! jules
Possible the light will need to be reset. the tank mounted pumps are not the most relyable. The tank is easy to get to under the back seat and very easy to replace. (I have not done a td4 one as my racer didn't have the tank mounted pump the front one was moved to the boot were the 250lt tank was but my td5 disco pump has been in and out four times already this year and that simple enough) Jules

Thanks for the helpful advice. Now I just need to sort out my 90!
