Mark
If we are talking Disco 1, the it has probably never been used! Crawl underneath and give it a liberal sqirt of penetrating oil to loosen in up - even better get someone else to crawl underneath and squirt while you wiggle the lever... If we are talking D2, then some of them were never fitted with them... What car have you got? Mark

Mark
I had a problem on mine to get it to stay in difflock, which got resolved by making a slighlty longer linkage, but it sounds like you need to get the mechanism loosened off first... enjoy
dougstar
just had the same problem my self but was stuck in diff lock after a trip out! i have soaked a rag in easol/wd40 and left it zip tied to the top link that seems to have siezed (the one that moves side to side across the car) and while this is in progress continually getting a good soaking i have dissconnected the botom linkage and manually shifted it over to normal (not diff lock) with a small shifter thus enabling the car to be driven still with the use of low and high range. will post results as soon as this method works if not think i,ll have to strip the complete linkedge out and insert a brand spanker!!!!! dont even wanna consider the cost of that!!!
