Mo Murphy
Enlightened ones, I seek a USB GPS receiver for my laptop for running MM in the landy. I have a bluetooth tomtom receiver which I use for my pda but it's a pain not being able to run the two devices at once off the one receiver so I'm looking at a USB reciever with a lead (bluetooth dongle on the laptop has proved a bit vulnerable in use). What features should I look for ? I don't need the latest all singing all dancing receiver, just a decent, reliable little unit that tells MM where I am TIA Mo

theraeteam
get one from fleabay around £30 you have to set up prolific serial to usb drivers and virtual com ports which sometimes can be a pain but once youve done that ,it should be plain sailing from there
dollythelw
CosZuki was doing some SIRF3 USB receivers for pretty good pennies - I used one this year and was shocked how fast it was and where it would find a signal (inside the car which was parked inside a steel roofed workshop! )
PeterR
I've been using this one http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/10939.htm for running MM on my Toughbook. Data cables are apparently available but I run it on bluetooth as it works really well.
