Peter Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Anyone used one - got one - now the best one to get - where I can get one from ? Bearing packer prefer manual one, as got no gas Quote
wobble_hd Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 I have one of those Bearing Packer and it works really well. I find it very god to also take an old bearing and just push new grease in the bearing. Its simple but efficient, imho! Marius Quote
bill van snorkle Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Anyone used one - got one - now the best one to get - where I can get one from ?Bearing packer prefer manual one, as got no gas Why ? do you pack bearings for a living? What's wrong with the age old method of scraping the bearing cone repeatedly over a palm full of grease until said grease oozes out the other end of the rollers ? As Marious said it is simple, efficient and is one less tool you need to buy and keep track of. At the risk of re igniting the oil vs grease debate may I suggest you replace the grease seals in your hubs with oil seals, remove the inner stub axle seals and run your hubs on lovely wet slippery diff oil ? Your halfshafts and drive flanges will love you for it. bill. Quote
