JSG
On a serious note there is no reason to do it. I may of had a shandy or two in my youth and driven home. But now I'm older and wiser it's not worth the hassle I have to agree. I went out last night for a work meeting that led to a nice steak dinner and a few drinks, wine with the meal and a nice brandy with the coffee. I'd driven to Reading in the morning and got the train into London as normal not intending to drink. Once i realised it was going to be an evening of moderate drinking I decided to leave the 110 in the car park and get the local train back from Reading to my village. Good plan untill Thames Trains and co cocked it up with delays meaning I got from Paddington to Reading but missed the last train home. So there I am in Reading just after midnight, feeling fine and not drunk (although I must have been over the limit), 8 miles to get home with no trains or buses, keys in my pocket and the 110 in the car park. What did I do? £30 on a bloody taxi - robbing gits. Only option.
