Adz
Got a problem with my transfer box (1993 D90 CSW 200 Tdi, 121k on the clock). The initial symptom was it jumping out of low range which gradually got worse until it wouldn't select low at all. "Ah HA" thinks I, the rod has come undone and popped out of the bracket on the selector... no such luck, everything was done up nice and tight - there's a lot of play apparent in the stick but it's not the stick, the clevis pin or the connection between the rod and the pivot on the transfer box - it seems it is the pivot on the transfer box. I had a go at adjusting the rod - I can get it so I can select High and Neutral but not Low... or Low and Neutral but not High... how badly raped is my wallet about to feel? Adz
Hmm... more likely to be a 2nd hand one from here... http://www.ebay.co.uk Anyone know if I can check the state of the selector finger with the box in place on the car - or am I just dreaming? Adz
Fixed it! Nothing 'worn' as such, the grub screw holding the selector 'finger' onto the shaft the rod from the little stick acts on had come loose. 10 minutes work with a couple of spanners and an allen key and all is well in LT230land. David Ashcroft... if you're reading this... I owe you a pint
