To chip or not to chip

Hi guys

I've got a 54 Freelander 2.0 HSE TD4.

I have been thinking of getting it chipped, has anyone got there's done? A bloke I work with has the same model and has his done and thinks it's marvellous, he paid about 300 quid and got a K&N filter too.

Any advice and anywhere in the Somerset area that does it or should I buy the bits and get someone else to fit it as my cousin is a mechanic?

TIA

Zoe

I have some spare TD4 ITG filters which I would rate over a K&N IMHO

A chip will increase the power and sometime give you better economy

the Td4's can be affected by the cheaper chips and lead to ECU failure.

My racer was done by JE Engineering and my inter-cooler was Jeremy Fern's
