Mack
The owners handbook states that only engine oil meeting certain Ford spec should be used when servicing. There is no choice. Unfortunately the LR dealer (just one here) insists on using Mobil 1 5w-40. This oil meets other Ford specs.....Aparently the only way to get this cleared is to write to the LR customer service. I would not call since I probably won´t understand the English on the phone. The question: does anybody knows if the usually reply? thanks M

I used it in my Disco 3 with no problems.
disco_al
Ford specify 5w/30 in all their engines these days, 5w/40 would be ok, but in the Mobil brand it would cost a bit. Normal 5w/30 semi synthetic from a factors would be fine, expect to pay around the £15 mark for 5 litres.
Mack
Hello dico al Well, that is cheap compared to the equivalent £43 it costs on this side of the planet. Only Liqui Moli has it. regards M Ford specify 5w/30 in all their engines these days, 5w/40 would be ok, but in the Mobil brand it would cost a bit.Normal 5w/30 semi synthetic from a factors would be fine, expect to pay around the £15 mark for 5 litres.
