Matt Neale
On Ebay at the moment is a P38 converted to Mitsubishi diesel4595158651 I drove a similar one a fews ago and it was actually very good. I know someone who had one of these - agreed, very nice motor with a good engine - however it's always wise to check the standard of the conversion... On the one that I know of, the company concerned had done nothing to the torque converter or the shift pattern to match it to the engine, and they'd reset the lowest ride height (so that the car no longer dropped to the "access" setting) as that was the only way to prevent the sump fouling on the front axle/diff. The car ended up having to have a replacement main and transfer box, and a fair bit of work done aftermarket to get the engine and gearbox working together properly. On face value very very nice, but unless the conversion has been done properly, don't touch with a bargepole.... Matt
