Joseph
Hi all, I have a problem with my 97 Disco (4.0 L V8 Automatic), where fuel starts heavily dripping from my fuel line/tank when im filling up the tank. The line thats broken is the big one used for getting fuel into the tank. I originally fixed the broken part of the line with a hose patch kit, but i did not replace the entire hose because i cant figure out how to get to where it connects to the tank. The other end hooked to the funnel for filling is easy. Is there a way to easily get to this? I heard you can use the hole in the floor to access the fuel pump, but can i get to this hose from there? Thanks, Joe
Orange
I can't help with a Disco 1, but I had a leak from that pipe on my D2 which the LR dealer said would mean taking the tank out to replace. I guess the same would apply for the D1. Mine was done under the extended warranty that I purchased from the dealer and I was glad that I did!!! russ3120
Joe have a look in the tech archieve, download the Rave file rave you can access the neck that is on the fuel tank, it is between the boot floor and the chassis, just a sod to do. Orgasmic Farmer
My old disco leaked on that pipe. It is quite common for the metal pipe with the curve in it that comes down from the fillwer to rust where it goes into the rubber pipe that connects it to the tank. You can remove this pipe without taking out the tank and depending on how bad it is you may be able to clean up the rust, add some rust stopped and reconnect it. You may need to push it further into the rubber pipe depending how bad the corrosion is. If that is the problem it should help for a while.
