300TDi rear anti-roll bar link

This is surprisingly easy to do (about 30-minutes), - the important thing is that you do it with the weight of the vehicle the same as if it's sitting on the ground. If you raise the vehicle on the chassis and let the axle hang, then considerable twist is put on the anti-roll bar and it'll fly upwards when you release the link. Therefore, raise the vehicle under the axle to gain a bit of room.

The link and bushes, which in this case have failed the MOT.

22mm nut/bolt at the bottom, and 19mm castellated nut/split pin at the top. Spray both with some WD40 to lubricate the threads and to remove grit.

Remove the 22mm nut and bolt and the rubbers. The roll bar will pinch a little bit, but it can easily be lifted a small amount by hand.

Remove the split pin, then the castellated nut, then strike the threaded end of the joint and the link rod will come away.

The new link rod with castellated nut and split pin. The two rubbers are seperate items (same as series 3 shock rubbers, which is what these are).

Put the new link rod in place and secure it at the top.

Pull the end of the link rod down far enough to insert one rubber.

put the second rubber on the shouldered bolt and put it in place (you may have to move the end of the link rod about to get it to fit).

Put the 22mm nut on and tighten it, then lower the vehicle to the ground and the jobs done.
