Pete Attryde Posted April 25, 2008 Author Share Posted April 25, 2008 Woohoo, After a couple a days hard graft, and the able assistance of Mike, I have a working Discovery again . I have only driven about a mile in it so far but my intial impression is that, unsurprisingly, the new box is much smoother and quieter than the old one. I now suspect that the old box had been dying for a while but I had not assciociated the noises with the gearbox. I have to thank Ashcroft's (especially Ian) who have been very helpful and efficient in helping me diagnose the fault and supplying me with the replacement gearbox and torque converter. Pete.
