fender1234
after a bit of roading the other day i noticed a sort of clicking noice when im pulling away, first i thought it was gearbox but now i think it might be cv joint as it seems worse when pulling away and turning does this sound like cv joint? if so, how can i work out which one it is? and is it a hard job? as it doesnt look to bad cheers

ebdesignDEFENDER
well..,I think you have to wait theat sound to come off--or you can take off your CV joint rom each side!
Les Henson
If the CV joint breaks, it's possible that it will lock the wheel - with possibly disastrous results. The bits will more than likely wreck the swivel ball etc as well. Jack one front wheel up, turn the steering to full lock (transfer and gear levers in neutral),and spin the wheel. If the joint on that side is badly worn - you should feel it. Les.
