RobDef90 Posted June 15, 2008 Share Posted June 15, 2008 Quick question.... I am fitting a Safari Snorkel to a 300tdi, however I have the wrong hose piece, don't ask how.... Andrew Chua Posted June 15, 2008 Share Posted June 15, 2008 it will work, but i won't risk it. although the safari snorkel has some technology to expel water being taken in at the top, it's a 2nd layer of protection should any water go down. However, the air filter too, should also stop a little water from going into the engine but in the long run it's not an ideal situation. ozzie1989 Posted June 15, 2008 Share Posted June 15, 2008 You will get different comments on this... if you plan to go deep wading I'd be inclined to take out the water trap as it's another source of water entry especially if the rubber goes brittle.
