Auto to Manual gearbox transfer box swap

Hi guys,

I dont normally pass this side very often but am need of some help/advice regarding a rebuild i am about to start.

I am currently running a Lightweight hybrid that has a Range Rover engine/transmission.

It is fitted with a 3.5 V8 coupled to a 4speed auto and BW transferbox.

I am proposing to fit a Disco 200tdi to a def 5speed gearbox with a LT230 transferbox. A real mismash!!

What has this got to do with you guys???

Well i am in need of a transfer box to go with my engine/gearbox. Ideally i would like to fit the 1.4 ratio version but i have in my shed a 1.192 from a Range Rover '87 i think coupled to a 4 speed auto.

My question is this; Can this transfer box be fitted to my defender 5 speed gearbox? Do i need to modify/upgrade any parts? As it is an auto will i need another input gear for the transfer box?

I dont really want to shell out any cash at the moment as i hope to get a 1.4 version (and input gear) but i have this box available now and will make do with the higher gearing until i do.

Any thoughts would be great.
