Putting a tyre on a rim?

Two or ideally three tyre levers and lots of lube.

Get one side keep the bead in the valley of the wheel and lever very small

amounts. The third lever helps hold the non working side still. Just be careful

not to pinch the ruber or bend kink the beading wires.

Not too hard really.

the MTO is a saxo driver and wont let anyone use any of the facilities for civi vehicles

Saxo driver says it all. Same here, workshop is run by civvies and helpful as they are with the loan of some tools and the airline when I desperate they don't give much away :( . But I'm working on it ;) .

A couple of tyre leavers is the basic requirement.

Lube is a good, you can use washing up liquid, but proper tyre soap is far superior. Having got some proper tyre soap a few years ago, the differance between it and fairly liquid makes you wounder why you didn't get some sooner.
