eds
My local parts shop are offering me Armstrong shocks and Allmakes springs to replace on my 110 200tdi commercial. I have read lots on specialist setups but think they are a bit too specialist. Information suggests I should stick to original spec. Does this mean definitely buy Landrover shocks and springs or does it mean that the armstrong shocks and and allmakes springs should be fine as they mimick the original spec. If the manufacturer is important and Landrover parts are not the best then can anyone recommend an better solution. I do mostly road miles but do drive off road but not testingly. I carry quite a load on the roofrack but not a full load. Any help would be most appreciated. Many thanks in advance Eds
nicks90
i would avoid armstrong shocks - they are pretty pooh when compared to a decent set of gas shocks. even cheapo procomp etc are better than original spec oil filled shocks. tbh, i think the shocks are more important than the springs. If you are sticking to standard spring rates and lengths (it would appear you are), then getting some decent dampers will make a huge improvement.
