chris1965.2A
Just doing a rebuild on a 2.5 N/A Engine. One of the jobs is to replace the cracked hot spots my question is the original hot spots were recessed into the head. I have removed them cleaned up the seat in the head so no carbon deposits, tapped the new hot spots into place nice tight fit. The new hot spots protrude slightly out of the head, I have sat my feeler gauge beside the hot spot with a flatbar accross the top and it protrudes 0.013mm is this to much or should i machine the hot spots flat to the face of the head. Any help would be great
Les Henson
Maximum swirl chamber protrusion is .76mm. You normally have to get the head skimmed after fitting new ones. Les.
