Mo Murphy Posted September 27, 2008 Share Posted September 27, 2008 Evening all, My earlier servo is kaput (vacuum pump is still producing vacuum) so I'm going to change it for the later type, which uses a 3 ports master cylinder instead the current one which has 2 as I have a couple kicking around. Now which brake pipe goes where ? I assume there are 2 ports for the front brakes and one for the rear. Will it be ok to disconnect the front brake pipes from the 't' piece on the footwell where they are split and fit a new bit of pipe to each from the master cylinder ? I have an Nreg 90 and I have changed mine and my dads on his Rreg 90 several times as they constantly crack due to flexing around the rim next to the fixing bolts for that nast pressed steel master cylinder thay now use. steve_d Posted September 27, 2008 Share Posted September 27, 2008 If this master cylinder is the same system as the RRC then the third port is the secondary braking system. The RRC front calliper has primary and secondary feeds to it and they enter at different points. If you used this master and piped it using all three ports then the fronts would be fed off different systems which would be very dangerous if one failed. I don't think you should use it.
