gearbox coming out

Jim is right if you just want to do a clutch. If you want to remove the gearbox then you will have to get about 20inchs under the chassis rails and you'll still have to remove the gear levers to get it out.......ask me how I know :rolleyes:

No, the stick stubs stay in place. When you lower the gearbox down, they don't interfere with the distance that the gearbox will move back. Be very careful that the gearbox doesn't roll as you slide it back - it can jam in the transmission tunnel and is very awkward/difficult to free off.

The jack under the handbrake drum is critical, so keep an eye on it.

well thanks for all the advice i have decided to split transfer box from the gearbox done it this morning (well chuffed),

the fork has some wear but the clutch plate springs have departed company from the plate,i have a full kit on its way to fit .

can someone advise me what the seal is called on the transfer case as i need a new one and never ordered it with clutch .
