hi all my 93 rrc used to have air sus (replaced with coils before i got it)

and i have noticed that the front spings have no securing device on the tops??

on my last classic the shock went through the middle of the spring on this being a ex air sus the front shocks are further forward.

so my question is ....... what should i do with it to secure the springs??

thanks rob

Depends on the length of the shocks you have fitted and the length of the springs.

If the spring remains compressed at maximum droop then you won't need to retain them. If they come loose you will.

Options range from jubilee clips to dislocation cones. The choice, as they say, is yours!

Just fitting lift springs is no garrantiee.

there are 2* basic measurements to a spring, the uncompressed/free length and the rate (stiffness). To get "Lift" the springs could be made longer and the same rate, but a lot of lift springs are "heavy duty" which more likely means they are about the same length as the standard springs but with a higher rate so they don't compress as much for a given load.

*excluding internal diameter
