JimAttrill
Hi all, is Castrol SLX Professional (BMW LL01) 5W-30 suitable? Their guys here say it is, yet I read on the Castrol OZ website that it shouldn't be used with diesels with particulate filters. Does the Disco III have a particulate filter? BogMonster
AFAIK some do some don't - I don't think ours do here. Lots of wind gets rid of the particulars
JimAttrill
The problem is we don't get Disco IIIs in the workshop as we don't have the pooter for it, and anyway most of them are still under warranty anyway. Maybe I should go to my local 'friendly' LR stealer™ and crawl about underneath one. What does a particulate filter look like when it's at home anyway? BogMonster
I *think* it looks much like a cat but I honestly don't know
BogMonster
The stuff we use in them is Magnatec 5w30 A1 see here http://www.castrol.com/castrol/productdeta...ntentId=7027374 it meets the B1 spec which is what the Discovery 3 needs - workshop manual says "Use 5W/30 oil to specification WSS-M2C-913B meeting ACEA B1/B3"
