mabbs
Having an intermittent starting problem - R.R starts if left for a few days, runs fine, but then refuses to start. has a good spark, so have investigated the fuel pump by testing what I believe is the feed wire (black, with a thin white line) with my multimeter. the feed is located at the top of the fuel pump, accessed via the boot floor. When the vehicle has just the ignition on 4 volts only, on cranking this leaps to 13/14v. Furthermore I can hear nothing from the fuel pump. Before departing with a thick wedge, do you think I can be sure it is a failed fuel pump from this???...... Anyone repaired a fuel pump before? Thanks
Orange
Sounds like your diagnosis is correct... You could try getting one from a scrapper to try out before buying a new one. Keep the 'scrap' one as a spare...
steve_d
Mabbs Fill in your profile. Someone nearby may have a spare pump laying in the garage you could borrow. Bit like my one actually. Steve
