maxtherotti
hi all whats the age/milage intervalfor a 300 tdi cam belt change? its a 98 manual if that makes any difference rob
Les Henson
Every 72,000 miles or 6-years, whichever occurs first. If you've been a bit mental with the engine, then half that. If you shop at Waitrose, then the belt will never need changing, but Co-Op, Tesco, Sainsburys, carparks are far more demanding Les.

freeagent
I agree with Les, if you've been rough on your engine, reduce the interval.. I had mine changed before Christmas, it had been in there for less than 3 years, and just under 50k, but was pretty knackered (had stretched so the timing was slightly out, and had started to perish, causing tiny cracks beteween the teeth) Also change the tensioner and idler pulleys, mine were new 3 years ago, and both bearings were knackered when they were replaced at Christmas... maxtherotti
looks like it will be getting the cambelt done sooner than i thought then still it needs a water pump anyway so have a one hit day on it rob
