You don't need new dampers. Some lift kits come with standard length dampers. Word of warning, some lift kits may deliver what they advertise, but not what you were expecting from the advertising.

To get the most out of the suspension movement then either longer dampers or adjusting the damper mounts is required after a suspension lift, but then you have other issues such as the flexible brake pipes being too short and dampers bottoming out under compression which must be delt with.

My first RRC was and now farthers RRC is lifted with just different springs and are ok for what the do, including pay and plays.

Spring spacers are another option as is a body lift (spacers between chassis mounts and body).

My personal view on lifitng vehicles is 'As much as neccisery and as little as possible'.
