  1. I've got terrafirma shocks +2" on the rear with a scorpion +2" lift springs and it handles the the road really well. Matt
  2. hi I'm a welder fabricator by trade, I'm a coded tig welder and by my experiance tig welding ali is not something your going to pick up just like that its bad enough to learn on thick ali let alone 2 3mm ali. before buying a tig set try and find somewhere where you can have a go and learn on thin gauge stainless where you can see what the malton pool is doing and how to control the torch and feeding the wirer in, cause like with everything not everyone can pick it up. you'll need to rent a bottle of gas (argon) you can use it for (Dc) stainless, mild steel, brass and Ac ali you a can get half size bottle. good luck
  3. i almost brought a freelander once, still do like the look of them and for a 4x4 i think there ideal for the school run just not a lot else after read there review.
  4. here's a pic of mine with 235/85/16 mt the front valance needs to be removed and a little cut on the back wheel arch on the bottom corner and alter your steering stops its not a lot at all mate.
  5. its not the jate rings themselfs its the mounting point on the chassis i've seen the tubes nearly ripped off my mates land rover so sinse then not really trusted them. Matt
  6. Hi all made some new pulling points for the rear of my disco got one fitted and still got the other side to do yet but I thought I'd get people's opinion. The main bracket is 6mm thick mild steel galv dipped, M12 bolts bolting through the bracket and through two tubes that I've inserted into the chassis. Matt
  7. I've got a four tonne hand puller and that works a treat pulled my mates disco out from this and if you cant afford a winch bumper and a winch then its the next best thing, just make sure its a good one and not one of those cheap a**e one.
  8. that happen to my drivers seat, I replaced the seat cover, foam and webbing for £10 from my local scrap yard and it all come off the passenger seat of the scrap disco, so now it looks and feels like a brand new seat. The seat cover unclips on the under side but its a seat out job.
  9. have a look in the lro mag in the accessery parts and they do different wing vents for the defenders that you could mount in your wing as your intake. Matt
  10. I run 235x85x16 and with a decat pipe and a removed egr I also tweaked the pump on the screw at the back with the locking collar turned up half a turn and it now pulls away from my dads standard disco.
  11. Looks good mate that monster of a truck looks good in the flesh I get all my parts from Chris in Wimblington as well.
  12. hi mate you'll need shocks as well
  13. thats fine guys but you've got to get around my cobra alarm and immobaliser aswell it was just a extra thing and how else are you surpose to offer the idea to others without writing it on here, I'll try and keep my idea's to myself next time.
  14. I've been wanting to put a bit of extra security on the car for a while and now I have it, Took about 30mins to do. Ive took the cranking wire on the ignition switch cut it and took both bits up through the dash and run them on the volume down button so now you have to put the key in the ignition turn the key to the cranking point and press the button to start the car.
