Chicken Drumstick
Got a problem with my Disco, the heater fan appears to be stuck. It was working, but while away for its MOT it must have jammed and blown the fuse. Ok, I've replaced the fuse but its still jammed, I'm sure the motor still works because when you switch the fans on the dash lights dip slightly indicating a power drain by the fan motor, but nothing turns. I kinda feel if I could give the fan a flick it might free and be ok, is there an easy way to do this or am I going to have to take the dash apart? First_Fleet
Aahh, I understand access to the motor is by removing the dash or part therof. On the '95, the fan is accessible from under the pass. dash & only requires the removal of 3 screws. Someone may know different, but that is how I understand it. Oh, I wonder if its the same on mine, it was a little dark when I was looking last night so I'll have another look when I get home. Would be handy, I'm sure all it needs is a tab and flick to free it off. Thanks
cipx2
On 200 series Discovery is not that simple to replace/access the blower motor. There's a thread on what it takes to do it: http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=20978 It can also be an electrical problem not involving the motor. Chicken Drumstick
Anyone have an exploded diagram of a 200Tdi heater matrix/fan? I don't even know where the fan motor is, is it possible to get near it without having to take the entire dash apart? Thanks.

cipx2
Exploded diagram: The heater unit: Try to reach it by taking the glove compartment off. I don't know if it will help you to see if the motor is stuck but I think that would be the easiest way to reach for the heater unit. First_Fleet
Hells bells! I can see why they changed it. Same principle but 90o makes it so much easier.
