gav-
how much current will a RR ignition switch take? Can i wire from the battery through the switch (acting as an isolator) and wire from the first switch stage into the rest of the vehicle to provide the feed to the cooling fans, efi, lights etc. i know how i should wire it, but am wondering if i could do it this way to make it easier for myself. steve_d
Short answer...No. The switch will not take the load. In something like a RRC where there are more electrics than a series or early 90/110 there is an ignition load relay which is activated by the ignition switch then the contacts carry all the 'ignition switched' type loads. Cynic-al
i would use the ignition feed to feed a bank of relays. One for cooling fans, one of lights etc. A single 55watt bulb pulls nearly 5 amps and a big fan must be around the 15 amp mark?
