If it is the 5 bearing block (brown) it might fit. The difference is in the crank seal. The later TDI engines have a seal on the flywheel fitting flange, where as the early 3 bearing blocks have the seal sealing the crankjournal. I used a 2.5 TD flywheel housing to fit my 300 tdi, but any 2.5 engine flywheel housing is ok I think. daan Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

tuko Posted September 2, 2009 Share Posted September 2, 2009 I installed a 300Di in my series 3 hybrid and what I did was used the 300Tdi fly wheel housing that I matched it up to the series 3 transmission bell housing. A little creative with the angle grinder, removing a stud and placing a few new ones at the bottom gave me the result I needed to couple the motor to the series 3 transmission. dr pepper Posted September 8, 2009 Share Posted September 8, 2009 I looked at tods link and have too fitted a 300tdi to my series, and the bellhousing fits, as tod says you have to bash one of the reinforcing supports and drill a couple of holes in the series bellend, but its not hard to make it fit.
