damio
I've spent some time tweaking the pump of my 90 200 tdi, after some playing the engine pulls well and there is almost no smoke even at full throttle. What i've done is basically add some fuel with the smoke screw (2 turns CW), 1/4 CW for the star wheel and 1/4 CW for the diaphragm. The engine now is very smooth and it gained some power, but I've noticed that some engine braking as been lost, like if the throttle never fully close, but I've checked the cable and it is fine. The only thing is that the idle is a little high, around 900 rpm when the engine is hot, but was that way even before I started playing with the fuel pump. So, what I've to do to get back my engine braking? Should adjust the idle or should i try to decrease the fuel with the smoke screw? many thanks
reb78
I beleive adjusting the idle was the past part of the tweaking process... so this may well solve your problem. Have you searched for and read the relevant posts? Most are mentioned in this recent thread: http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=49346
damio
from the other topics it seem that you have to reset the idle just when you touch the power adjustment screw anyway I'll try to reset the idle and see if that change something thanks!
