Gilslandy
hi guys...last night was pushing my 90 a bit (td5) and my friend who was driving behind me told me that on hi revs he saw red flakes (or mayb sparks) coming out of the silencer. i have the mid box removed. what could that be pls??? Thanks Gil
kingrat
Sounds like super heated soot blwoing out of the exhaust. Is the egr removed, is the ECU remapped?. Only thing I'd personally be woried about is if the exhaust gas temp was high as damage will follow at some stage. Hopefully its just soot getting hot and blwon out. Cheers paul

TD5 power
hi you wont be able to read EGT with nanocom as the TD5 engine doesn't have the sensor fitted as standard. the cheapest i've seen a sensor and guage is around £35 from mcnally electronics the sensor is usually put in the EGR blanking plate. High EGT temperatures result from an engine that has been tuned too far and is delivering more fuel than can be burnt for the volume of air, this also raises another point if the air filter is very clogged the volume of air will be reduced and could lead to high EGT. Who remapped the ecu? Matt
