  2. Hi guys and girls, would like to ask if someone ever upgraded a stock td5 turbo with some other turbo which is a variable one. mayb from a sprinter or anu other vehicle. i would like to put a variable turbo but the ones there are in the market they are far too expensive. Any help is much appreciated Gil
  3. Thanks G. Could be that was the problem, cant really tell what exactly was the problem cos before all this i changed all injectors almost a year before so injectors were new! I was told that td5's blocks cant be rebored! don't know exactly y! mayb the walls of the chambers are a bit thin! Thanks gil
  4. Hi guys, Would like to ask a question, i need to change my 10p td5 engine block since it worn out and had some problems in number one chamber and piston. Can't really figure out why this happened, the number one piston lost its perfect circle shape, it became sort of elliptical (exagerating it a bit). So diesel was escaping from the gap between the piston and chamber, unburnt, and as a result alot of white smoke was getting out as exhaust and was missing alot. no water residue was found in block and cylinder head! Now i'm looking for a good second hand block, is a 15p block good for me. the reason why I would like to know this, maybe if i find a gd 15p block it would have worked much less then a 10p one since its more modern. thanks so much for your help. Thanks Gil
  5. yes spigot bearing diametre is larger and bell housing is bigger then a tdi one. so best thing is to use ur bellhousing with the new box and arrange the input shaft issue. gil
  6. Hi guys and dolls.. i'm sure anyone fitted a through cab snorkle on a td5 engine. What do you do with the sensor on the side of the original td5 airbox? not sure if its called the ambient temp sensor or something like that. thank alot gil
  7. in theory yes, but i never saw plus 3 shocks. that would be ideal!
  8. thanks, ok i have extended brake pipes already (plus 4 inch). so i need turrets 2 inches longer then the standard ones? re relocatoers ok, thought abt that. my main issue was the turret height so as not to bottom the shocks. thanks
  9. Hi guys, I'm thinking of fitting plus 5 inch shocks to the front of my 90. i have standard height turrets and standard ranga rover coils with a 2 inch spacer under the coil. Will the new shocks fit and work well with my present setup? Thanks alot Gil
  10. Sorry for the hijack, but whats this activate thing you put in the gearbox? Gil

  14. Hi guysss.. I bought the shock absorbers mountings to fit pin-pin plus 5.5 shocks, but i have a small problem. The mounting on the driver side can't be fitted cos there is the diesel filter on the way! Has anyone encountered this problem pls?? Thanks alot Gilbert

  18. yes its without egr and a remapped ecu! mmmm will have a check on nanocom re reading of the exhaust gas temp!!!
  19. hi guys...last night was pushing my 90 a bit (td5) and my friend who was driving behind me told me that on hi revs he saw red flakes (or mayb sparks) coming out of the silencer. i have the mid box removed. what could that be pls??? Thanks Gil
  20. hi guys, is it normal to have oil residue in the inlet manifold? thanks Gil
  21. hi guys and gals, I have a 2000 90 td5 with a remapped 2004 ecu. last month i changed the tyres to a set of insa turbos, 285's. from then i lost alot of the acceleration and torque i had on my 90. and i was consuming to much fuel. I had my speedo not reading well due to the change in tyre size. LAst night i fitted Aschcrofts 4.11 ring and pinion and i was so happy to get back my acceleration and torque, and hopefully less fuel consumption. I would like to ask, with the new ring and pinion, does that correct again the speedo reading please? and regarding top speed, will it be less with the new ring and pinion? btw i have the standard 1.4 transfer case. thanks alot.
  22. check fuel regulator and oil in the red socket of the ecu! common faults mate!
  23. till now, been driving like that for a week now, it didnt go on limp mode! mayb the ecu goes into that after the 18psi mark! any one can confirm that please?? who sells tha turbo bos claims that u can boost the system up to 22 psi with that! but i doubt it if a standard td5 turbo remains alive after that! thanks gil
