pistonbrokescooby
hi all thinking of going larger on the defender, at the moment have 235 /85 16. what sizes can i go up to with no further mods ?, the 90 has 1 inch higher springs on already. i was thinking 265/75 /16. but would like to go a little bigger ,width ok just a little higher . any answers would be appreciated. thanks pb
western
255/85 would probably be the biggest & stay within the wheel arch flares.
Gavin Hatton
I have 285/75R16 fitted with no Mod's, no loss of steering lock and they're within the wheel arches.
JST
dont forget the wider you go the less lock you will have or the bigger offset you will need which can increase the wear rate on axle components. 255.85 as Western says work well, but i dont think they do an AT that size. LandyLee
everyone makes 265/75s , though not as good as 85s for axle clearance etc. at least all manufacturers list them. I went for 265/75 AT pattern but would of preferred 255/85 for their size.
