Clicking starter relay

Recommended Posts

Hello one and all, I reckon I've sussed the ignition barrel, however the ruddy thing still won't turn over.

When I turn the key the relay clicks, however I reckon I have the wrong relays in the new holders, could this also be down to an under powered battery? I am trying to turn over a 3.5 mazda engine instead of the old 300 tdi.

Does anyone know what relays go into what holders, I'll be looking at buying new relays as I've re-used the old ones from the '89 plate loom in this 200/300 loom, so I reckon they are wrong.

Sorry for all the stupid questions but I am really trying to get this thing sorted out.

Regards

Andi

if you fitted the relay's into the correct sockets on the new loom, there sholdn't be a problem, the relays are common to both models, I have a 200tdi on a TD main loom just swapped them one at a time to the same socket on each loom. a fully charged battery will be benefical.

hello my frend

my frend has a 110 and he had the same problem he also had the startor motor klicking as well like the relay. I found the problem and fixed it (not hard to do).

the prombelm was that the wier powering the pulling coil on the startor motor had broken down so was a poor cernection on the stator end all we did is replaced ther wier for the barrol to the motor its the littel fin wier if you repace that you should have problem solved. Just pull each wire one by on out of the barrel try and start the car till ther klicking stops dont pull the aout and leave them out as u will have problems rewiering once you have found it erplace it.

hope this helps and not too confusing.
