nomis21
Great start to a Monday morning.... Set off on my 20 mile journey to work, half way there then lost power steering, brakes and battery light came on dash...! Temp gauge very eratic, managed to get a few more miles down road to a safe place and temp gauge nearly in the red. Freebie been using a lot of water, had it in garage a few weeks ago thinking it had a water leak, mechanic couldnt find any leaks? so i just kept topping up... Think i have caused long term damage. Its a 2.0L diesel commercial 2000 year Any thaughts ?

viorelluta
Phew panic over, just seen mechanic, Snapped alternator belt !!! Was expecting worse :-) you should investigate the coolant issue, is there is no external leak it probably means that the coolant goes in the cylinders and then is vaporized.
