Hillbilly Raider
Series 2.5 petrol oil warning light coming on when starting, goes out if you rev it, but comes back on when you leave off the throttle. Oil level is fine. Currently truck is not running smoothly popping and backfiring a bit when using throttle, could this be adding to/ possibly lack of oil pressure? hence why the warning light is coming on? Ta muchly Mand. (if it was mine i'd stick a 200tdi in it but its me dads and he likes it!)
Steve Hiatt
Are you using 20w50 oil?

Steve Hiatt
Not good. Personally I'd put some black insulation tape over the light It'll probably last years.
Hillbilly Raider
Think we have sussed it now ........poxy oil pressure switch! (keep telling him to go 200tdi!)
Jon White
Might be worth just temporarily putting a gauge on it just to check what the oil pressure actually is!!! Mine ran for miles with NO oil pressure.......well from Brick kiln to home.....bottom end was knocking so badly the whole truck shook!!!!
