Dave3d
I have A 1997 Defender V8 and suffer from heat problems at the drivers and passengers feet. It gets very hot at our feet as well as the gearbox cover. Is this a Defender problem as I have heard of more than one person complaining or can I fix it, or at least make it a bit better. The engine does not overheat nor the gearbox-xferbox. Can be very uncomfortable at times. Is it engine or gearbox heat.?
Litch
I suffered a bit with this in my old S111 V8 SWB. The problem is that the exhaust manifold is very close to the footwell and of course it gets very hot, is there (or should there be) a shield of some kind around the manifloid? The best solution is to fit a reflective heat insulator to the engine-bay side of the footwell. This stuff is available from suppliers of noise inslation material.
