landkeeper
i have a hybrid built on a galvanised defenderised rangie chassis that at the moment has a v8 fitted and lt77 it's nicesounds great turns heads including plod but thirsty and not ideal as a regular driver . i'm half thinking of swapping engine and box for a 300 and auto lump out of a disco. without cutting and welding new mounts to the chassis cos that'd be a sin has anyone made up mounts to suit the 300 in a v8 chassis or know are they available from any of the conversion specialists
TheRecklessEngineer
I'm guessing it's on carbs? 'squirt it. I'm getting 20ish on an undergeared series. Probably hit 22-23 if the gearing was better. You won't get much better than that with an auto 300. As for the mounts problem, no I haven't. It may not work as the v8 mounts I think sit higher than the TDi ones - I'm not sure there would be room for an adapter. Might be worth having a poke around with a tape measure though.
