no ealry ones have opposed shock mountings and a different gearbox crosss member latter ones have a different gearbox cross member and rear facing shocks apart from that nothing else as far as i know

If you imagine the cross section of the chassis rail, on the really early ones (maybe the first 2 years or so) the corners of the box had crisp sharp edges as opposed to radius corners.

As stated, the early 2 door rangies had one rear shock facing the rear and the opposite side facing the front. When they went to air suspension in the early 90's they fitted extra bits. Also in the late 80's/early 90's they changed the gearbox cross member to a round one of different shape to the old square ones. The also changed the rear rear cross member, that the A frame fits to, to a round one with the A frame mounts built into it rather than bolted to the old spare ones. There are also a number of other changes like later model radiators mounted to the chassis, where the mid 80's ones mounted to the body, etc.
