danneh
Hi Tried to fit spring spacers on me mates disco the other day managed to get the rears on without too much fuss but got a bit stuck on the fronts. Managed to undo the top shock mount and turret but then when it came to the bottom shock nut and the 2 spring platform bolts we were struggling to get a good grip on them. Has anyone got any tips on getting the bottom undone? At the moment hes rolling round like some sort of dragster disco! thanks danny
Ratty43
I found a pair of mole grips to be just right clamped at the join between the tube and the stud.
SPendrey
Yep, similar for me. Big mole grips on the shock tube... damages it, but who cares since you're going to bin it anyway?!
Ratty43
If you clamp them on just below the tube then the shock remains undamaged.
ronnie_rotten
get ratchet strap and wrap it twice round the shock, and back to the chassis somwhere. as you turn the nut, the stap should tighten even further, and boomshanka, nuts away! this way the shock comes off undamaged and can be reused if needed or kept as a spare.
