Tools needed for LT77 stripping / rebuild

Marco

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Investigating the DIY rebuild of a LT77, have started yesterday but did not come that far, 1st problem main shaft collar. Question, which tools are needed / suggested to strip the box without buying official (way to expensive) workshop tools. e.g. universal bearing puller etc.

Cheers

The main shaft collar is a piggy! You really need the special tool, but you may get away with a proper bearing puller.

Otherwise its all pretty stnadard tools - circlip pliers, spanners, bearing puller etc etc. The difficult bit is shimming it all correctly and you'll need a DTi to allow you to measure the endfloats.
