Disty Posted November 9, 2010 Share Posted November 9, 2010 I was trying to put my drive belt tensioner back in after changing the bearing (it was squealing!!) and I seem to have managed to rip out the threaded shank/bolt that holds the tensioner to the case. It still screws in maybe 3 or 4 threads, but the first few have been ripped out (soft aluminium?) so I left it for next time.. Can somebody run me by their procedure for refitting this? The rave CD seems to make it too simple- because the bearing bolt is reverse threaded you have to tighten it pretty darn tight to get enough tension on the belt to get the locating spigot in (and then it sat at an angle, which is presumably why it pulled the bolt out?) cookie64 Posted November 9, 2010 Share Posted November 9, 2010 you should fit the tensioner as it would sit in your hand i.e no belt going around it, it should pretty much fall on then get a breaker bar on the pully bolt and 'detension' it so you can put the belt on it Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
