barmiebrumie
I have had this happen twice now, once on a 200 & once on a 300 & both times just changed the headgasket without getting them skimmed without any issues. John
scube
Oh most defiantly if you have to take the head off for head gasket get it skimmed You would lick yourself if you didn’t and it leaked again.

LandyManLuke
This is a common failure point for headgaskets on 200tdis I believe, it happened to mine about 6 years ago. I'd look at the situation from the perspective of whether you're willing/able to repeat the job a second time, if not-skimming it the first time causes it to fail again. I had the head skimmed.
